1. I have been told that my installation needs to carry LPS 1301? - Top
Bodycote Warrington's "FIRAS Domestic & Residential" and "FIRAS Commercial certification" equate to LPCB/BRE Certification's LPS 1301 & LPS 1048 respectively.
FIRAS certification is accepted by local authorities, building control and insurers as an alternative and equivalent certification for fire sprinkler installation & maintenance.

2. Can I install my own sprinkler system? - Top
Current building regulation state that a system must be fitted by a competant installer.
If a building control officer deems the installer not to be competant then he can reject the building application.

3. What or who is FIRAS? - Top
FIRAS certification is third party accrediation operated by Warringtonfire Certification Ltd., part of Bodycote Warrington.
It is one of only two independently accredited organisations undertaking certification of fire sprinklers, the other being LPCB/BRE Certification Ltd.

4. Will I get a certificate or proof the sprinkler system is correctly fitted? - Top
As a FIRAS accredited company we are authorised to issue certificates of conformity.
Our certificates are accepted as proof by all interested parties, including the building control, fire & rescue, local authorities and insurance companies that the sprinkler system has been correctly installed and to the appropriate standards. - Updated: October 8, 2009
5. Are you an accredited fire sprinkler installer? - Top
Our work on domestic and residential fire sprinkler installations is certified by FIRAS - a certification scheme for companies installing fire protection systems.
