Partial sprinkler systems are often used
where the installation only requires a small number
of rooms to be protected and just the primary root
of escape. The addition of a water pump may be
necessary where a water main can not provide a
sustained rate of water flow to the property. This
can be due to mains size, an old lead water main
supply or situation on a hill; a flow test is
usually required to ascertain if a pump is
necessary. Speak to us help organise one for you.
Water pumps can also be required to boost water pressure into the property where the main has an intermittent pressure, this is usually more common in large urban centres than more rural installations. |

The most common example of this is usually loft conversions or houses with more than 2 storeys; where the water requires pushing up to the upper storeys that need protecting by fire sprinklers. The BCO, at the time of the planning application, may specify use of water storage tanks this will be incorporated in the design phase, if the amount of water required to fight the fire needs to be guaranteed for certain time frame. |
