Partial sprinkler systems are often used
where the installation only requires a small number
of rooms to be protected and just the primary root
of escape. The definition of this and the standards
a partial system must meet are laid out by the
Building Control Officer (BCO).
The most common example of this is usually loft conversions or houses with more than 2 storeys. Where a modification to an existing property has required a further enhancement to the level of fire protection present. |
| Partial systems usually work out to be cheaper
than full systems but can still require the use of
water pump and
water storage
tanks if the mains water pressure is not
sufficient. A mains water pressure test will
determine this. However complex this installation maybe sprinklers are usually very economical when compared to the comparative structural modifications that may be necessary to achieve the same level of fire protection. Nationwide can liaise with the BCO to achieve the most efficient installation for you. |
